What's my story...
I'm lucky. I have a wide range of skills and experience
built over a 20 year period working in Australia and Europe.
In that time I've worked across a diverse range of mediums
with interesting companies and many talented, inspiring people.
My "job" has been to do something different everyday; you can't ask for better than that...

Precinct (formerly ABT) | 10 years
Executive Creative Director | 2012 to 2014
Creative Strategist | 2011 to 2012
Creative Director | 2004 to 2011

Precinct is a Communications Agency I worked at for 10 years. While it always a team effort, I was instrumental in the growth and success of Precinct during this time. Critical to this was building and nurturing the creative team needed to service the diverse range of mediums Precinct work in such as; live experiences, integrated campaigns, digital and interactive, film and video, design, brand identity as well as environments. Precinct built a strong reputation and long term relationships with blue chip clients who respect their brand - and their people.
My role encompassed creative direction and strategy on pitches and projects, new business development and ensuring the standard of quality creative thinking and production that has enabled Precinct to reach it’s late 30’s. Precinct has offices in Melbourne, Sydney so my role also meant building and overseeing a staff of up to 13 creatives and network of semi independent creative teams. I also had the responsibility for helping guide the development of the company as part of the leadership team along with the CEO and the management team.
"george" Advertising | 2 Years
Senior Creative | 2002 to 2004
In January 2002 life changed, just slightly, when we fell pregnant (well yes, my wife did) and we decided to move “home” from Denmark for that part of our lives. I began work with “george” a start up Advertising Agency as Senior Creative about a month after returning to Australia.
“george” was driven and owned by an inspiring strategist who hired me because of my belief that great creative can only be born from great strategy. In the two years I was there we grew from 4 to 15 people, created a whole new bank from scratch and won Emerging Agency of the Year (B&T Agency of the year awards 2003).
Not bad for a start up.
Kunde & Co. | Denmark | 2 Years
Senior Art Director, promoted to Creative Director, International & Healthcare | 2000 to 2002
Kunde & Co are the largest agency in Scandinavia and I was lucky enough to be asked to work with them again (previously in London 1998-99). My role as Senior Art Director included tasks such as; concept development, design, art direction & brand development for a range of both Danish and International clients. I was also rewarded with being named ‘Employee of the Year’ in what has just been voted ‘Agency of the Year’ in Scandinavia (Børsen - 2002).
I had the distinct benefit of being a native English speaker and as such was often called on to present various creative concepts to our international clients. This was a fabulous experience! I really enjoy presenting and it gave me the opportunity to hone the skills I already had, as well as being involved in projects from brief to delivery, ensuring creative quality.
This quickly lead to me being offered the position of Creative Director of the new International & Healthcare division as of December 2001, a role I shared with a copywriter. Between the 2 of us we were responsible for overall creative quality,
the hiring of new staff and managing a team of 11 creatives.

The Graphic Design Department was responsible for the design and production of all advertising, promotional activity and venue collateral.
Part of my role was also to work closely with the marketing teams and operational managers of all our concept venues to ensure all material produced was effective, on time, relevant and maintained and promoted brand identity.
Kunde & Co. | London | 1 year
Art Director/Designer | 1998 to 1999
Working as an Art director on re-branding, corporate material and advertising for a range of clients. We had a small team here so my role was varied and involved design, concept development, photographic art direction, and taking jobs from concept right through to production.
Kunde & Co London was a new office of the largest independent Scandinavian Marketing & Advertising Agency, which opened in October 1998. Because of our age and the small size (15 people), I was also involved with setting up working systems and procedures, production management, client briefing and client presentations.

Australian Business Theatre (ABT) | 5 years
Junior Designer through to Senior Designer | 1991 to 1996
My first ever real job and man what a place to start. This was a brand experience agency before the term was ever coined. Here I honed my craft in design and art direction and production management of a range of mediums from print material, exhibition stands, set design, multimedia, web pages, film & video and speaker support presentations.
This first job also meant I got a handle on administration tasks like: estimating and controlling budgets, scheduling production in design department and part of team involved in IT management in relation to the design department and its needs.
